To HP Laser Jet users:
----------------------
The following letter was received regarding using both the HP Series II and
IIP laser printers:
I am currently using an HP Series IIP printer. I was not able to get the
files by Craig Thurber to work properly on both a Series II and IIP
printers. Perhaps he set the defaults on his printer differently.
However, after playing around with printer codes, I found a set of codes
that worked. In addition, I wrote a configuration for the Series II using
a Pacific Data cartridge using its 3.6 point font. Using this font, I can
easily fit 6 pages on one side of a sheet, with wide margins. Of course,
reading it is another problem. Reading a sheet printed this way reminds
you why legalese on contracts is always in fine print!
Thanks for writing DOCSMASH.
Sincerely,
Gerry Ching

These codes are untested by me, but appear reasonable. I have created a
PRN file using the Printer Codes and included it in this group of files.
Copy HPII.PRN to your root directory as DOCSMASH.PRN to use it. If you
wish to comment about it, try its creator at his Compuserve number for the
best advice. Or, contact me on Compuserve at 71131,3253 of at the address
shown when you terminate DOCSMASH.
